Tom Martin Bio

Tom Martin is a 20-year veteran of the marketing and advertising world who has been named Ad Agency Executive of the Year by the American Advertising Federation and Communicator of the Year by the International Association of Business Communicators.

Tom’s tourism background includes not one but two stints working on American Airlines. He has also directed marketing strategy for The New Orleans Convention Center, Casino Rouge, South Seas Resorts, The Drake Hotel (Chicago), various Hilton Hotels, and the La Quinta Resort in Palm Springs, CA.

Outside of tourism, Tom has worked in dot-com, telecom, pharmaceutical, business-to-business, healthcare, hospital, broadcasting, retail, liquor, restaurant and packaged goods.

Tom is a contributing writer for Advertising Age Magazine, blogs at HelpMyBrand.com, and is a frequent speaker at tourism and digital media conferences around the country. Yet he is probably best known for his innovative marketing programs that successfully changed the brand perception of Mardi Gras from “beer, beads and body parts” to “family friendly fun.”
